Deer feeder parts, batteries and trail cameras: what should you buy?

A feeder repair, a barrel conversion and remote camera monitoring need different shopping lists. Start with the job below, then compare the exact model in our catalogue. Buying a larger battery, a newer camera or a complete replacement kit is useful only when it solves your problem and fits your equipment.

Repair a working setup

Keep the existing feeder when the failed component can be identified and a matching replacement is available. Record voltage, shaft diameter, mounting pattern and connector before comparing parts.

Compare feeder repair parts →Motor versus complete kit: buying guide →

Build or rebuild a barrel

Check the barrel rim and outlet, then price the full build: band, legs, lid, funnel, feeding head and power. A barrel kit can omit the barrel, legs and feeding mechanism.

Compare barrel kits and mounts →Compare complete feeders instead →

Monitor feeder visits

Choose local recording if you can retrieve a card regularly. Consider cellular monitoring when remote access is worth the ongoing service cost and your location has usable coverage.

Compare the first-year cost, not just the product price

Use this shopping calculation: equipment + required power + compatible memory card + mounts or security hardware + 12 months of any required service. For a barrel build, add the barrel and legs if the selected kit excludes them. Compare that total with a complete feeder before deciding. Check the current Amazon offer for shipping, seller, returns and included accessories; the same product name can appear in several bundles.

Three checks before opening a listing

  1. Record the exact model. Photograph the label on your existing feeder or camera. Match part numbers rather than relying on a similar product photograph.
  2. Measure the connection. For feeder parts, check physical dimensions and voltage. For camera accessories, check the manufacturer’s supported model list.
  3. Compare the complete offer. Confirm the selected variant, included components, current cost and return terms. Amazon buttons here open model-focused searches, so select the matching offer yourself.

Shopping questions

Do I buy directly from Best Deer Feeders?

No. This is an affiliate shopping guide. Our buttons take you to Amazon, where you select the listing and complete your purchase.

Will every part fit my feeder?

No. Similar-looking parts can differ in shaft size, mounting pattern, voltage and connectors. Use your exact feeder manual and the seller’s specifications. If fit is uncertain, ask the manufacturer before ordering.

Why are there no fixed prices or stock claims?

Listings and availability change. Check current price, seller, delivery and stock on the retailer’s page. We do not present these search links as confirmed in-stock offers.

Can I use a 12V battery in a 6V feeder?

Use the voltage approved for your feeder. Read our battery compatibility guide before buying a replacement.

Selection is based on buying needs and compatibility checks, not hands-on testing of every listed option. Follow manufacturer assembly instructions and applicable local feeding rules.

Refill planning and first-year costs

Use your own delivered prices and measured feed use. All starting values below are hypothetical examples, not product prices or feeding recommendations. A gravity feeder’s use must be measured; it cannot be calculated from timer settings.

Worked example with no calculator

A hypothetical 250 lb capacity, 10% reserve and measured 4 lb/day gives 56 complete days between refills. At $0.30/lb, annual feed is $438. Hypothetical $120 equipment + $20 power + $15 other + $5/month service totals $215 in year one before feed and travel.
