Use this free calculator to see how long a deer feeder fill will last, how much corn you will go through, and when to refill.
0.25 lb per second is only an example. Measure your own feeder for a better answer.
Enter a capacity, feedings, seconds and throw rate above zero.
| Each feeding | 1.25 lb |
|---|---|
| Per day | 2.5 lb |
| Per week | 17.5 lb |
| Per 30 days | 75 lb |
| Bags to fill the feeder | 4 |
| Bags per 30 days | 1.5 |
| Cost per 30 days |
How to use the calculator
Enter your feeder capacity, the number of feedings your timer runs each day, and the seconds each feeding lasts. Then add your throw rate and bag size. The answer updates as you type.
How to measure your throw rate
Run the feeder for 10 seconds over a tarp, weigh the corn, and divide by 10. That gives you pounds per second. Throw rate differs between feeders and changes with battery charge, so measure yours instead of relying on the example.
Worked example
A 200 lb feeder running 2 feedings a day for 5 seconds each, at 0.25 lb per second, uses 2.5 lb a day. A full feeder lasts about 80 days, and you would use about 1.5 bags of 50 lb corn every 30 days.
